An interested FrontBurnervian passes along this link to the Chicago Tribune‘s insider-ish reporting that Mark Cuban is the frontrunner to buy the Chicago Cubs. “What would Cuban be like as a baseball owner?” you may be wondering. The NYT did some wondering as well, ICYMI.
What’s the over under on Mark selling the Mavs if he buys the Cubs?
Enlighten me . . .
ICYMI = In Case You . . . what?
Hey, all I want right now is to win a World Series so my dear friend Terry Abbott at Houston ISD will quit reminding me that it’s been 100 years since the Cubs won it all.
Cubes owning the Cubs? Why not. Say Mark, I’m open for any Opening Day or series games if this all comes to be. Just let me know.
We Cubs fans have taken untold abuse over the years. It would be nice to have someone at the helm who would tell hecklers to go drown themselves in Lake Michigan.
Dear LOC (aka YSFS):
ICYMI = in case you missed it
Or, in your case, ICIWOYH
Thanks, SLR – now I’m completely lost.
Daddy Claxton,
Tell Abbott to get a calendar because it hasn’t been 100 years..yet. That’s like saying I’m a year older than I really am because my birthday is in a few months.
@ Dots, thanks. I shall do so. And mention the fact that the Cubs are 5 in front in their division and the Braves, a bitter rival, are 10 behind the Phillies with no hope in sight.
Now if we can only get rid of the curse, play recordings of Harry singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame and ensure that Steve Bartman is no where near the outfield bleachers during the playoffs we might be okay.
I would love to see cuban with the cubs!!! Rock on.
Thanks
jay
