Friday Fun With ID Collection’s Jim Williamson

|

It’s Friday. You know what to do. Put your hands together for ID Collection’s Jim Williamson. Well, it’s the last official weekend of summer, and we get an extra day off. That sounds pretty good except for the 24 percent of the population who work in retail. Hopefully, those folks will make some extra commission from all the sales going on.

This weekend will also hopefully mark the end to my #instaenvy—jealousy induced by seeing three months worth of gorgeous vacation pics on Instagram. I swear if I see one more pic of a friend jumping into far away waters from yet another yacht, I could suffer a mental snap. The next thing you know, I’ll be wearing 100 percent polyester and Crocs. Egad!

For now, I will smile and continue to live vicariously through my friends and colleagues while strapped to this computer, which isn’t even a Mac by the way. (I thought if I threw that part in it just might pull on your sympathy chords.)

Since I will be a fish out of water this long hot weekend, I will have to try out a new fish dish in the kitchen. Apparently, I have become quite the chef when it comes to lighter summer fare. This is according to Max, who proclaimed last weekend’s meal one my best yet. He even went go so far as to say it was better than our meal the night before at Spoon. I wouldn’t go that far. But it was nice to know that the hours I spent roasting, chopping, and marinating paid off. I recently suffered a burn on my hand, and the doctor told me, “You might want to rethink your time in the kitchen.” But no pain, no glory. Sadly, I guess I can cross off “hand model” from my resume.

I will be in town this weekend taking care of four “kids”—Oh wait! I forgot about Max! Make that five. I will spend the time contemplating how and why Courtney Stodden got on Big Brother UK edition and why she is only 19 but looks 49. But I hope you all go out and do something fun for me, or at least think about me while you are having fun. Should you see me out and about looking less than happy (well, less happy than my usual mean face), just send over a ’Rita. As everyone in Texas knows, tequila is the great equalizer. I promise to do the same for you one day.

Happy Labor Day!
