Friday Fun With ID Collection’s Jim Williamson

matthewIt’s Friday. I am about to get a super makeover at Neiman’s, so I am turning this thing over to my friend, ID Collection’s Jim Williamson. I am proclaiming that today is “Complaining Is the New Bragging” day. So get out there and tell everyone how tired you are because of too much work, too many meetings, an overabundance of projects, and a host of gatherings you have to attend. If you aren’t exhausted, you aren’t chic.

Guess what I did last Friday? I went to It’ll Do. Yes, it was my first time ever at a club that has been around for at least 35 years. Almost as long as I have. I was “popping that” on the dance floor until almost 2 a.m, thanks to Spank Rock, DJ Sober, and our good friend Shuttle. I may have been just a few years older than most of the people dancing, but age doesn’t matter at It’ll Do. All that matters is your dance moves, and I brought my dance moves. Sadly, instead of conveying hip and cool, those moves were saying, “Call emergency services.” But it was a much need break, and I had a blast.

Speaking of parties, it looks like NYFW is about to wrap up. I have had a front row seat to many of the shows and after parties. Don’t be jealous. The A-list access was courtesy of Instagram. It’s not who you know, it’s who you follow. From what I have been reading and seeing, the parties have been epic. (“Epic” is such a 2010 Winter Olympics word, right?) Some parties had price tags considerably larger than the cost of the actual runway show. Apparently, luxury is back in a big way.

Now let’s tie Fashion Week into interior trends, courtesy of talented fashion designer Matthew Williamson. You may notice that we share a surname. I am pretty sure we are not related. But that didn’t stop me from trying the “cousin” angle to garner some beautiful runway shots with Coco Rocha. I got some images of shows past and was all excited to share how fashion fuses with the new home collection. Then, guess what? Press embargo. Pretty soon, this thing is going to be called “Friday Fun with Jim ‘Press Embargo’ Williamson.”

But let’s get back to the collection, because I can share images of that. Matthew’s first interiors collection, Eden for Osborne & Little, features some amazing wallpapers and textiles. The collection is fashion-forward and full of color, just like his clothing. It also stays true to his love of nature. Expect fun and exotic colors, embellishments, and a glamorous and flirty vibe. Sienna Miller loves his fashions, and she looks pretty amazing all the time. So what could be better than having your living room look like a beautiful, famous actress? It’s all here. Your relatives will be arriving for the holidays sooner than you think, so you might want to think about gussying up the place. I’m not judging.

That wraps up another week. We have gone from “popping that” on the dance floor to popping new colors in your home via Matthew Williamson and Osborne & Little. Now all that is left is popping a cork. Happy Friday!
