As an attempt to ease your shelter-in-place boredom, my fellow editors and I have been making appearances on D‘s Instagram. So far, we’ve chatted with local chefs and bartenders, toured the Arts District, discussed the latest headlines, and demonstrated DIY projects you can do from home.

On Tuesday, I took the lead. My guests were Brittany Ricketts and Rylie Bland, Dallas estheticians known for their expertise in anti-aging skincare. While enrolled at the Aveda Institute a few years ago, the friends started a blog, House of Preservation, to showcase their favorite beauty products, tips, and tricks. The blog was a hit, and Brittany and Rylie decided to open their own brick-and-mortar med spa in February 2019.

Brittany, Rylie, and I worked together to produce a simple overview of skincare for D Magazine‘s IGTV. You’ll find answers to questions like: Do I really need to wear sunscreen every day? In what order should I apply my skincare products? How can I get hydrated, glowy skin?

You can watch our video below or on our Instagram account. (Still have questions? Check out House of Preservation for more skincare secrets.)
